Italy is preparing for the gradual easing of Covid restrictions from March 31st, the date on which the national State of Emergency will definitively expire. The Council of Ministers recently approved a decree that outlines a road map towards a return to normality , with precise rules and dates that will accompany us for the next few months until the end of June. We will start on April 1st with the farewell to the Green Pass for bars, restaurants and outdoor activities, while from May 1st there will no longer be the obligation to have the Green Certification nor to wear masks indoors . Let's now see together what are the changes that will most impact the travel sector. What awaits us in Italy The first big news for the hospitality sector is that from April it will no longer be necessary to have the Super Green Pass to stay in a hotel . This is a measure strongly requested by the Minister of Tourism, to facilitate stays and travel in view of Easter and the summer season.
However, the strengthened Green Pass UAE Phone Number obligation will still remain in force - at least until 30 April - in the case of restaurants, wellness centres, game rooms, discos, cinemas, theatres, concert halls, swimming pools, gyms, congresses and conventions. The only exception will concern foreign tourists who will instead be able to limit themselves to presenting the basic Green Certification. As regards public and long-distance transport (such as planes or ships), the need to wear FFP2 masks for the entire duration of the journey will remain, but it will no longer be required to show the Green Pass together with the ticket. However, to return to complete normality we will have to wait until May 1st. The point about international travel On an international level , it will be increasingly easier to move between one country and another. Many nations have already begun to remove restrictions, with the hope of giving a boost to the travel sector in view of the summer season. A recent example is the United Kingdom , which has decided to permanently remove the passenger locator form upon arrival and the obligation to take a swab test for unvaccinated travellers.
In Europe, however, it was preferred to extend the obligatory nature of the European Digital Covid Certificate until June 2023 . However, the regulation for obtaining the European Green Pass has been modified to adapt it to the evolving pandemic situation in the various countries. Furthermore, the possibility of including all the doses received in a single vaccination certificate is being taken into consideration, regardless of where they were administered, so as to facilitate their release for fully immunized people. There is no doubt that we are moving in the direction of a restart , but it remains to be seen what the consequences of easing restrictions will be on the number of infections, hospitalizations and intensive care. The hope is that next autumn even stricter measures than those currently in force will not be necessary, which would put a sector already hit by two years of crisis into further difficulty.
